The Scouts have just returned from a week’s camp at Gradbach Camp Site on the borders of Staffordshire and Derbyshire. The week was actioned packed with almost all food being cooked over an open fire. The Scouts had a go at wild swimming in 2 small very cool water pools on the River Dane, warm soup was required afterwards!
They also had day’s hillwalking over the Roaches, carrying and then cooking, lunch on lightweight stoves on the top. The week also included a day trip to Alton Towers, a morning trying Bouldering, a first for many especially on real rocks and a Wild West theme day, involving a gold nugget treasure hunt, manhunt for wanted criminals and a saloon show around the campfire, lassoing and horse shoe throwing.
It was a tiring but fun week, with just enough time to recover before we started back at Scouts on Wednesday 6th September.
