Ian’s Update June 2014

Adult Support – Your choice

You will have read over recent months that we have children in Taverham who would love to join Scouting in the village and develop as responsible members of the community.  Scouting in Taverham starts at 6 years old until 14 years when children have the opportunity to move to District based Explorer Scouts and beyond, including leadership.

Sadly the only reason these children cannot join is shortage of adult support.

It would be fantastic to be able to re-open our 2nd Beaver Scout Colony so that boys and girls aged 6-8 can start their Scouting and learn the vast array of practical and social skills on offer.

If you are aged 18 or over, with a desire to do something and put support back into the community then please get in touch.  Taverham Scout Group reaches it’s 50th birthday in 2015 and literally ‘000s of children have passed through the Group in that time.

Don’t worry if you have no experience – full support and training is provided and all adults are subject to DBS(CRB) checks.

It would be fantastic in the new term to open a 2nd colony and increase capacity to over 120 children in the area.

If you or someone you know wants to play a part in helping the next generation then please contact me.
