News Update July 2022

We have all had fun on the go-carts, practiced shooting hoops, yoga routines and water carrying to water the new trees and some potatoes which we planted in bags.

Each Beaver has also been challenged to grow the tallest sunflower to remember Ukrainians.

Beavers held an old fashioned Bring and Buy Sale in aid of the Ukrainian Appeal.
A good time was had by everyone and an amazing £87.40 was sent off to Christian Aid.

24 Beavers carried out a litter pick at Taverham village hall and around Nightingale Drive ready for the Jubilee and were awarded the Special Jubilee badge for their efforts

On behalf of 1st Taverham Scout Group I would like to thank Tesco Drayton, the Manager Dale and the Community Team for their support. We have received a kind donation of £214 from the charity book sale which is going towards our overseas trip to Kanderstag Switzerland.

Kanderstag has an international Scout centre where we at taking 20 scouts, August 2022.

1st Taverham are holding a number of fundraisers leading up to the trip and this includes a car wash on 18 June and 9 July.

I would especially like to thank the local community for their continuing support.

1st Taverham Scout Group is pleased to announce that Daniel Fordham has been appointed as the Chairman of 1st Taverham Scout Group.  He can be contacted at: . James Wilson is currently acting as Group Scout Leader; we are looking to appoint to this post on a more permanent basis in the future.

We have a lot of summer events planned, however some of our plans are compromised by a shortage of leaders which does limit the variety of opportunities that we are able to offer the children.

Currently, both of the Cub sections (Monday and Tuesday evenings) and the Scout section (Wednesday evenings) are short of leaders and many of the existing leaders are helping on more than one night per week in order to keep sections viable and running smoothly.  If you would be interested in helping out, having a chat with one of the leaders, or coming along to a meeting to see what it involves, please get in touch with James Wilson at: or click here.
