Ian’s Update May 2017

The Beavers have completed their community impact badge and in doing this they have supported the GATE charity. We have to say a big thank you to all of them for their Bring and Buy sale where they raised £46 for the charity. This will help a child in Gambia.

We would like to congratulate Sam Lightening and Will Goodwin Lorenzoni for achieving their bronze award.

April saw the Group take part in the annual St. Georges Day Parade in Norwich, St. George being the Patron Saint of Scouting.

Our recent Quiz night raised over £1300 for Group funds and other charities supporting those with dementia. A big thanks to Frances Addington and team for putting the night together.

The Scout Group are currently seeking additional adult support either with helping with our sections (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts) or with a wide range of administrative support work. With a large Group of over 100 members, the Group seeks to support our section leaders by removing as much ‘admin’ as possible.

Over recent years work around adult DBS checks, fundraising and maintaining Group records has increased and this may be of interest to someone who would like to give some voluntary time to our youngsters. Please contact us if you can help.
