News Update September 2020

Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 situation the annual fireworks display will not take place this year.  This is only the second time in 40 years we have had to cancel.

Tuesday Cubs

Since lockdown, we initially set activities via the pack’s Facebook page, and saw great photos of their involvement. Since early June, the Cubs have been meeting virtually via Zoom.  They have been making hammered leaf & petal prints, a cake in a mug, learning about calories and diet, and are doing a pack challenge to climb Kinder Scout (in Derbyshire @ 2087ft or 3741 steps).  We have also made wind and rain gauges, tried some origami, and made some mini twig rafts.

Some of the cubs have also completed a St George’s Challenge badge (patron saint of Scouting), been doing activities from https://www.scouts.org.uk/the-great-indoors/ and have taken part in the national Great Indoors Weekender.

Take care,

Stephen, Akela – 1st Taverham Seeonee Cubs
